Off the Clock
A few things I get into when I'm not at a keyboard. Turns out most of them still come back to the same thing - pull something apart, get a little obsessive about how it works.
Bouldering
Every problem on the wall is a puzzle - I hang there working out the sequence before committing to a single move, get it wrong, and reset until it clicks. Same instinct I bring to a keyboard: understand the whole thing before you touch anything.
Language Learning
Spaced repetition for vocabulary, immersion for everything a textbook doesn't teach. Not chasing a certificate - just want to read or watch something in its original language and actually get it.
Linux Workstations
A whole machine set aside for tinkering with Linux - new window managers, my own dotfiles, breaking things and putting them back together. Just a puzzle I pick at because I want to.
Art & Illustration
Landscapes and quiet places - chasing light and mood until a piece feels calm to look at. The slowest, most patient thing I do all week.
Photography
A reason to slow down and actually notice the world instead of scrolling past it. Not chasing gear, just trying to see what's in front of me.
Reading
Manga for the story, technical and self-improvement books for actually getting better at something. Progression's basically the theme running through all of it.
